  I have known Michel Veronneau for 15 years. I first met Michel when he did work for our son's Canmore townhome - he developed their basement, somehow managing to fit a laundry room, storage, bedroom and recreational space into a small area. It was a great design adding value to their home. A few years later, my husband and I bought a 10 year-old Canmore home. At first we had Michel do small projects - fence, shed and decks. Then we took the plunge and had the first floor gutted and rebuilt into a more useful and attractive design for our lifestyle. As this was to be our retirement home, we were very involved as the house went through it's demolition and rebuild into the house of our retirement. A necessary office area, washroom and closet were added to the main floor and, most importantly, a large flexible open kitchen, dining and living area replaced the former small rooms. Over the years, Michel has continued to be our contractor for house repairs and improvements and is currently designing storage in the laundry/furnace room. This year our neighbor, after checking Michel's work on our house, hired Michel to do their similar renovation. I think it is pretty rare, and a great commendation of Michel's work, that he has always delivered as per quotes, schedule and quality and we count him as a great Canmore friend. We are proud of our comfortable home and have had many compliments on the workmanship. If you are interested in checking out Michel's work, he definitely knows where we live!

  Anyone considering contracting Mr. Michel Veronneau, owner of Cutting Edge Building Services in Canmore, to work on their personal residence should be aware that he has, in the past, offered to purchase personal belongings of vulnerable seniors on whose homes he is working. My family lost a beautiful mahogany writing desk to Mr. Veronneau in this way. The desk is of great sentimental value to our family as it had been inherited from a beloved aunt and great aunt. When I attempted to discuss the matter with Mr. Veronneau he became very angry, hung up, and has refused all further communication with me. Anyone with similar concerns should report them to the Cannmore RCMP as possible cases of elder abuse. (I have been told that Mr. Veronneau's wife Louise collects antique furniture.)
